Mental Health and Well Being
Here at St. Beckermet Primary School, we are committed to supporting the emotional health and wellbeing of our pupils, staff and families. We know and understand that everyone experiences life challenges that can make us vulnerable and at times, anyone may need additional emotional support. We take the view that positive mental health is everybody’s business and that we all have a role to play.
All our staff have achieved a recognised cache level 3 qualification in Supporting Young People with Mental Health Problems.
Phunky Foods
We are working alongside the Phunky foods programme to promote healthy lifestyles within our school. During our healthy school week Harriett from Phunky foods visited our school. She worked alongside our student council to present a fantastic assembly about healthy choices. Our student councillors informed us all about how much sugar is in our diet. Each class then took part in a workshop all about healthy choices.
We are hoping to set up a Phunky foods after school club this academic year to allow pupils to gain a deeper knowledge and understanding about the various food groups, where our food is sourced and the benefits of healthy eating.
